Grrrrrrrr!

These RBS guys are amazing.  And I don’t mean the good kind.

I have their credit card. I didn’t use that this whole month and even then they sent me a bill for 50 paisas (0.5 rupees, 0.007 dollars).  When I called them to inquire, they told me to pay up via a one rupee cheque or else I’d bear a fine for 500 rupees or so.  I mean seriously, WTF?

Now I have to write them a check, fill up their stupid form, find their drop box and drop it there (not to mention take pics of the whole thingy), which was precisely the stuff that I was trying to avoid this month when I refrained from using their card.

And all this to pay up half a rupee that I didn’t even use in the first place. I mean like, grrrrrrrr!

  1. Hahaha! :P

The silver lining is, I bet that's the FIRST time you've written out a cheque that's honestly worth less than the paper it's written out on~!

  2. hahahahaha... learn from it... use your card to buy Rs:1 stuff :P... every month!!!
Too bad, the places where Rs: 1 stuff is found, no card machine would be installed... and where there IS the card machine, you won't find any Rs: 1 item! :D:D:D
    lol

  3. @Xeb: Yah, you are right. It is the first time.
@Maryam: It sure is annoying, tell me about it. I might not use their card at all now. I hope they don't send me anymore half a rupee charges.
@Mehreen: If I were you, I'd be laughing too. But I am me, I am annoyed. :(

  4. @RD: It's not a rupee. It's half of that. I am sure nothing is available for half a rupee these days. I had to write a check for them for a rupee because that's the smallest amount you can write one for.

  12. @Anon/@Ali: I might post it further. :)
    @BN/@Cube: I might do that too. ;)
@Arfeen: It actually took longer. :P
@oana: I don't like cards either but it's safer to use cards here than carrying cash.

  13. @ JD : is it safer ? Then maybe our thieves havent payed yas a visit yet :P . ATMs robbery is smth common here, these days. They place wee cameras on the ATM, so they can get infos ab ur pword , and some "dunno-wot" called in their slang "wolf mouth" that can copy info ab the cards once theyre placed in the ATM. Then with fake cards they "clean" ur account of all money ya have lol.
And thats the elegant way ..using the technology, they have few rudimentary other ways. :)

  14. @oana: Yes, we had similar rumors about stuff like this going on in some of the ATMs in the city but they turned out to be mere rumors in the end. :)
