Against All Odds!

Against all odds, against the biggest teams, we won!
The atmosphere here is electric. Fireworks, dances, sweets, congratulatory messages and calls have got the networks jammed and I am stuck at my friend's valima and blogging from my cell phone. Grrr!

Random Stuff

So, we are into the final of the World T20 Championships. Yesterday, while watching our semi-final game against South Africa, I was jumping with joy with every wicket we took and every six we hit. I don’t think I have been this excited about Cricket for years. It’s surely good to be back. And although this win deserves a post of it’s own (believe me, there are plenty out there), I don’t wanna jinx it yet as there is still one tough (and most important) game to go yet. We have been playing superbly lately but Sri Lanka, the other finalists, have been awesome too. Go Pakis, I am sure we can beat any team any day if we play to our potential. Looking forward to a great game this Sunday.

Two of my friends that I went to school with are getting married this weekend. Well, not to each other. They are both guys and I don’t think it’s legal in Pakistan yet. I feel wierd, is this a sign?

I am hung up on this superb performance by Saeen Zahoor and Noori in the first episode of Coke Studio’s second season. I didn’t follow the first season as such but Man, the show is awesome. And we have some serious talent over here. The lyrics are just super awesome and Saeen Zahoor’s part is as amazing as it can get.

Parh parh ilm te faazil hoya
Te kaday apnay aap nu parhiya naaee
Bhaj bhaj warna ai mandar maseeti
Ve kadi mun apnay wich warya naaee
Larna ay roz shaitaan de naal
Ve kadaay nafs apnay naal larya naaee
Bulleh Shah, asmaani ud-diyaan pharonda ay
Te jera ghar bheta unoo pharya naaee
Buss kareen o yaar

Oh, and Paimona is awesome too.

I have been to Kot Diji lately. Will post in detail about that eventful trip in a day or two.
